FCL has won a major contract to supply Fleetguard Filters to a major plant hire corporation.

Whilst the customer cannot be named it takes FCL into the plant hire market with significant business.

Luke Tibble Head of Motorsport in our Pipercross division has been selected to fight for Great British Squad in the World Stick Fighting Championships in Las Vegas this July. Luke has been competing in the sport for a couple of years in which he has won two British Titles and a 3rd place in the European Championships in Poland last year. Standing 6ft 3in tall and weighing 123kg he fights in the Super Heavy weight class.

The sport its-self has seen continued growth over the years with applications to the Olympic committee to try and get it a recognised Olympic sport. It originates from the Philippines where the art of Kali Stick Fighting is hugely popular. It is a full contact martial art with competitions ranging from low armour (just gloves and a helmet) to full armour with arm and body protection. Competitions are in single or double stick and are scored by 3 judges looking for movement, control of opponent and ring, striking and defence.

Luke and the whole of the GB squad fly out to Vegas on the 15th July where they will compete in 5 days of competitions in a knock out tournament. The Championship named ‘Dual in the Desert’ is sure to be a great event with teams entering from all over the world including Germany, Poland, Spain, Italy, Phillippines, Hungary and many more. We would like to wish Luke and the team the best of luck in their Championship bid.

We are delighted to announce that FCL have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Export 2012.

This is incredible, fantastic achievement. Since the company started in 1987 we now export to 52 countries representing well over 25% of turnover. Our foam air filters are used by bus and train operators worldwide and PIPERCROSS high performance air filters are sold also globally.

There was an announcement made in the London Gazette and Financial Times on 21st April 2012 and another announcement will be made on the day of the Queen’s Birthday.

There was also a small article in the local paper, Northampton Chronicle and Echo.

Wayne Stevens prepared the application with help from Matt Golby, and our Managing Director, Deryck Norville, and the rest of the organisation would like to thank them for their brilliant work. There were over 10,000 applications with less than 100 companies being successful.

The award is being presented to the company by the Lord Lieutenant of Northampton in May, and Deryck and his wife will get to meet the Queen!

Filtration Control Ltd and their strategic technical foam partner, Technical Foam Services Ltd, are delighted to announce their being jointly awarded a multi-million pound contract from a leading Heating and Ventilation manufacturer.
